VA Home Loan Explained: Answers Straight From VA | theSITREP
Can two 0% VA disability ratings actually result in compensation at the 10% rate? Surprisingly, under very specific circumstances, they can. In this episode of Mail Call, we explain the unusual provision found in 38 CFR § 3.324. If a Veteran has two or more separate permanent service-connected disabilities rated at 0%, and those disabilities clearly interfere with normal employability, VA regulations provide a pathway to a single 10% rating—not by combining the ratings through normal VA math, but through this special provision. We'll explain what has to happen, why this appears to be extremely uncommon, and what VA means by a “compensable zero.” To learn more, see ADDITIONAL RESOURCES below.

Can Two 0% VA Ratings Pay You at 10%? | Compensable Zeros & VA Disability | theSITREP
Twenty-five years after the September 11th attacks, Americans are coming together to remember, honor, and serve. On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Veterans, families, friends, and community members are invited to take part in a National Day of Service at VA national and state Veteran cemeteries across the country. Volunteers will help clean headstones and take part in beautification projects to care for these sacred spaces and honor those we lost on September 11th, along with the Veterans who answered our nation's call in the years that followed. You don't need to be a Veteran or have special experience to participate—just a willingness to serve. Watch the SITREP to learn why this commemoration matters, then find a participating cemetery near you and register to take part. Twenty-five years later, we don't just say, “Never Forget.” We show that we haven't. To register, visit links below in ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
